ADHESIVE MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
Warning: Adhesives are flammable. Keep away from uncovered lights. Use only in a
well ventilated area. Do not splash into eyes. Use a barrier cream on
hands. Wash hands thoroughly after using adhesives.
A.
Repairs will be made using a two-part polyurethane compatible adhesive system (Part No.
95-306-001). The adhesive system is broken down into two (2) parts. It consists of the
adhesive (Part No. 95-306-001ADH) supplied in 16 oz. cans, and the accelerator (Part No.
95-306-001ACC) supplied in 1/2oz. bottles.
B.
Only the specified adhesive shall be used for the repair of liferafts manufactured by Revere
Supply Company. Using unspecified adhesives may have unexpected side effects resulting
in premature failures.
Caution:
It is very important to observe exact procedure in mixing so that the
accelerator will not separate from the adhesive. The measured volume of
the accelerator must be poured into the appropriate quantity of adhesive.
(Stirring all the time - for a minimum period of 5 minutes.)
C.
The adhesive system used for repair is a two-part adhesive. The constituents must be
mixed together with the correct ratios: 0.24 fl oz. (7ml), or approximately 1.5 teaspoons, of
accelerator to 16 fl oz. (473ml) of adhesive. Use a medical or lab syringe to extract the
proper amount of accelerator from its bottle to mix with the adhesive.
D.
The adhesive, having been used for joining surfaces, will have fully cured in five to seven
days at room temperature. At higher temperatures the curing time will be less, and at
lower temperatures the time will be longer.
Caution:
The mixture cannot be stored ready-mixed, as it becomes unusable after a
8 hours. The components and mixed adhesive must be kept in completely
sealed air-tight containers.
Note:
The pot life of the mixed adhesive is dependent upon workshop
temperature and the degree of exposure to air during use, and it will
thicken within four to six hours. As long as the adhesive can be readily
applied as a normal smooth even coat, it is suitable for use.
