Battery/rechargeable battery instruction
• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave any batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around openly. There is a
risk of batteries being swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor
immediately.
• Replace flat batteries, rechargeable batteries in time, since flat or old batteries/
rechargeable batteries may leak.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries that come in contact with the
skin can cause chemical burns, therefore use suitable protective gloves.
• Liquids leaking from batteries/rechargeable batteries are chemically highly aggres-
sive. Objects or surfaces coming into contact with these liquids may get consider-
ably damaged. Therefore, keep batteries/rechargeable batteries in a suitable loca-
tion.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, disassembled or
thrown into fire. There is a danger of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; danger of explosion!
• Ensure that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries or rechargeable bat-
teries (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
It is possible to operate the product with a rechargeable battery. However,
the operating time and the display contrast, are greatly reduced due to the
lower voltage (battery = 1.5 V, rechargeable battery = 1.2 V).
We therefore recommend to use high-quality alkaline batteries only instead
of rechargeable batteries to operate the product.

Barbecue/kitchen thermometer

Intended use
The barbecue/kitchen thermometer is used to measure the temperature of foodstuffs.
A special sensor is available, which measures the temperature in foodstuffs and as
welll as the outside temperature.
Operation requires a battery of the type AAA/Micro.
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in these op-
erating instructions.
Any use other than as described above is not permitted and can damage the product.
In addition, it can lead to hazards such as short-circuiting, fire, etc.

Only the sensor and metal jacketed cable is heat-resistant.
• Do not use the product in a Microwave.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or
accidental falls, even from a low height.
If you see any damage, do not use the product any more but take it to a
specialised workshop or dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner.
• In schools, educational centres, hobby and self-help workshops, the op-
eration of the product is to be supervised by trained employees.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around. It may become a
dangerous plaything for children!
