Setup and Operation
WAM­400 Automatic Mixer
Placing the automatic mixer and connecting the antennas
Place the automatic mixer on an even surface or install it into a rack. Connect the antennas
provided to the antenna jacks. Put the antennas upright in a V­shaped position.
For rack installation (483 mm/19"), 1 unit is required. To avoid heat accumulation, keep enough
space around the mixer.
Place the mixer at least 1 meter above the ground and not too close to lateral walls.
Avoid sources of interference such as metal surfaces or electronic devices (e.g. computer, CD
player).
Ideally, position the receiving antennas at the height of the transmitter. When using multiple
systems, do not allow antennas to cross or touch each other.
For optimum reception, keep the transmitter at least 2 meter away from the receiver and avoid
obstacles.
The antennas provided are suitable for use in good reception conditions. If more than one
receiver is to be used, it may be better to use the R­14D antenna distribution system and the
R­22AU directional antenna (accessories).
Finally, connect the automatic mixer to the mains via the power supply unit provided. Slide the
country adapter onto the power supply unit and connect the cable to the power input jack of the
mixer. Pass the cable through the cable grip. Connect the power supply unit to a wall socket.
Connecting a mixer
Connect the automatic mixer to a mixer or other following units.
Set the input level of the following unit to minimum as long as the transmission path for the
conference system is not established.
The XLR output jack provides the mixed signal of all signal sources. Connect this output to a mixer
or other audio units such as amplifiers or recorders.
