10. Programming the speed controller
To re-programme, proceed as follows:
• Put the vehicle on a suitable support (e.g. starter box) so that the wheels can turn freely and do not touch the ground.
• Switch on the remote control.
• Connect the battery pack to the speed controller and switch on the vehicle.
• Put trim control "TH.TRIM" (fig. 1, Pos. 7) in centre position. This might already cause the drive to move and the
wheels to turn.
• Let go of the throttle (fig. 1, pos. 10) on the remote control
so that it is in neutral position.
• Hold down the setup button on the speed controller for
approx. two seconds. The green LED on the speed
controller starts flashing.
During the programming process (green LED
is flashing), the drive is switched off for safety
reasons. The wheels stop turning.
• On the remote control, move the throttle (see chapter 7, pos. 10) to full-throttle forward position (pull throttle towards
handle) and then to full-throttle reverse position (push throttle away from the handle). If necessary, repeat the procedure.
The throttle must be moved to the end point in both directions.
Caution!
If you do not move the throttle during the programming process or do not move it far enough,
the vehicle might respond to even slight movements of the throttle or become uncontrollable.
In that case, repeat programming.
• Let go of the throttle on the remote control so that it assumes neutral position (do not touch/move throttle).
• Shortly press the setup button on the speed controller.
Now both LEDs (red and green) light up to indicate that the speed controller is in neutral position. The settings are
saved and the vehicle responds to remote commands as usual again.
When driving forward, the green LED lights up, when driving backward, the red LED lights up. This is of
significance, if you want to use different remote controls/receivers. In such a case, you might have to
adjust the reverse function on the remote control.
If the vehicle still moves in the wrong direction (throttle on the remote control is moved in the right
direction, green LED lights up, but vehicle reverses), swap the two motor connection cables on the
speed controller.
