g) Connecting the Driving Battery to the Speed Controller
Before connecting the driving battery to the speed controller, activate the transmitter (see chapter 9. c) d) und e). Also
check that the speed controller is switched off
§
Off On
¨
To prevent a sudden starting of the wheels and therefore an uncontrolled starting of the model (e.g. if the
trimming for the drive is maladjusted), place the model vehicle on a suitable surface (or starting box), so
that the wheels can turn freely in case of an error.
Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels
Now connect the driving battery to the speed controller. Ensure correct polarity (red cable = plus/+, black cable =
minus/-).
h) Switching on the Speed Controller
Switch on
the speed controller (see chapter 9. g, figure 2). Then wait for a few seconds (leave the throttle/brake
lever on the transmitter in the neutral position; do not move it).
Now check the drive and steering function of the vehicle.
For programming the speed controller, please observe chapter 11.
Chapter 11. a) describes how the neutral and full throttle positions for forward and reverse driving must be
performed. This should be done at first start-up if the steering servo does react correctly but the vehicle’s
engine does not start.
Chapter 11. b) describes the other programming possibilities for the speed controller (e.g. braking function,
hand brake, etc.). The manufacturer has already performed a suitable pre-programming. It should not be
changed for the first few attempts at driving.
If the vehicle drive starts even though the throttle/brake lever at the transmitter is in its neutral position, adjust the
trimming at the transmitter (trimming control „TH.TRIM“ for throttle/brake, see figure 1, item 8), until the engine stops.
