AUTOMATIC SELF-TEST
When you apply power to the modem, it automatically runs a self-test that checks for and identifies faults in the
modem’s circuits. After displaying the message
SELF-TEST
, the front modem displays one of the messages
shown in Table 2-1.

The modem is set to operate using factory default
values.
326X Ready
No faults were encountered during the self-test. The
modem is ready for operation.
[Error message]
A system fault was detected during the self-test.
Handling Error Messages
If the modem fails the self-test and displays an error message, do the following:
1)
Record the message to assist in troubleshooting the modem.
2)
Turn the modem off and then on again, and observe the front panel display. If the modem displays
326X READY
, the earlier error message was probably caused by a temporary power line problem.
Some line problems do not affect modem operation. If the modem continues to display an error
message, contact Raymar-Telenetics Customer Support.
