8.1. PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
8.1.1 ERROR 4 POSITION FAIL
8.1.1.1 Descent movement
If during descent movement, the message “ERROR 4 POSITION FAIL” appears, it means the column did not correctly move in
descent. You must check:
1. Any obstacles under the trolley.
2. Any hydraulic circuit loss that could cause malfunctioning.
If the problem persists, you need to contact the technical service.
TESTS AND SOLUTIONS:
Identify the column with the error code as well as the message, to identify the column that was blocked.
Obstacles under the trolley:
If the blockage is caused by an obstacle located under the carriage, it is necessary to press the single selection button and then
the descent button: at the end of the ascent phase, for unhooking the harpoon, release the controls and repeat the sequence so
that the obstacle can be removed easily.
At this point, turn off all the forklift columns and then re-access them all by selecting the “LAST CONFIG” option.
If the message “ALIGNMENT FAIL” appears, this is due to single movements carried out on the blocked column, and is not consi-
dered an error. Proceed with manual alignment of the lift bringing the blocking column to the same height as the others, to remove
the “ALIGNMENT FAIL” condition.
At this point, run an overall descent paying attention that no further alarm conditions occur, and that the lift is capable of guaranteeing
alignment of the columns within 40mm
When all the columns on the lift are on the ground, remove the vehicle from the columns and run an overall descent n 3-4 step in
total up to the maximum height and check that the height of the columns is as given in the chapter.
At this point carry out a parking series at different heights (steps 2-3) and check the correct operation of the plant (Parking OK and
Parking KO). Return the columns to the ground.
If the procedure ends without any further errors, it is possible to continue using the forklift.
In case that this does not occur try to bring back to the ground all the columns with single descents (double-click) by making so that
the maximum difference in height among the columns is 40 mm.
Hydraulic circuit leak
If the block is caused by a hydraulic circuit oil leak,
contact the technical service.
8.1.1.2 Ascent movement
If during ascent movement the display shows the message ERROR 4 POSITION FAIL, it means the column did not move in ascent
at the correct speed, or that during the ascent procedure, the column moved downwards at least 15mm. You must check:
1. Any hydraulic circuit loss that could cause malfunctioning.
2. Correct functioning of the descent valves (D1 and D3 in table 12): check the valves are completely closed
if not powered.
3. Correct activation of Motor C.
4. Encoder system.
5. Electronic board
For the description of the identification of the causes, refer to the description of the similar situations in the
chapter 8.1.1.1.
NOTE:
the lift during the ascent phase (Motor C on) uses valve EV3 to slow the column to guarantee better alignment (without
having to stop the column) of the lift. This should not be considered a malfunction.
8.1.1.3 Column not moving
If with the lift stopped the display shows the messageERROR 4 POSITION FAIL, it means the column has moved, without any
voluntary command, by at least 15 mm from the original position. You must check:
1. Any hydraulic circuit loss that could cause malfunctioning.
2. Correct functioning of the descent valves (D1 and D3 in table 12): check the valves are completely closed
if not powered.
3. The valves are all not powered when the column has stopped.
4. Encoder system.
5. Electronic board
For the description of the identification of the causes, refer to the description of the similar situations in the
chapter 8.1.1.1.
8.1.2 ERROR 23 POSITION FAIL
If during a descent movement or with the column stopped the display shows the message ERROR 23 POSITION FAIL, it means
the column has detected a signal that is not correct coming from the micro limit switch, i.e. the column detected closure of the limit
switch when the height of the column is greater than 30mm.
In this case, try to switch off and back on all the columns, select “OLD CONFIG”.

Check that, when all the columns are on the ground, they all signal what is out-
lined in Fig. 10.
