TRANSMISSION BRAKE
The transmission brake should be disengaged before
any adjustments are made. Adjustments can be
made at either the brake lever on the handles or the
abutment bracket on the top deck. Before adjusting
ensure the compression spring (C) length is 118mm.
To adjust spring (Fig.27):
1.
Release the locknut and adjust nut until
correct spring length is achieved.
2.
Retighten the the locknut.
To adjust cable at handles (Fig. 28):
1.
Release the locknut (A) on the adjuster
at the hand control end of the cable.
2.
Screw the adjuster (B) until the hand
lever can be retained by the OPC.
3.
When the correct adjustment has been
made retighten the locknut.
To adjust cable at abutment bracket (Fig.27):
1.
Release the locknut (A) on the adjuster (B)
at the abutment bracket end of the cable.
2.
Screw the adjuster (B) until the hand
lever can be retained by the OPC.
3.
When the correct adjustment has been
made retighten the locknut.
NOTE: Ensure the cable is free when the OPC is
released and the brakes are engaged. Spring
stretch controls the lever position not cable
tautness.
