10 Load Chain, Load Sprocket and Chain Guide
The load sprocket (or load wheel) has five (eight with a 45° load wheel on SM2, six on SM16) precision-
machined chain pockets.
The chain guide is a standard feature and it helps guide and hold the load chain in the pockets of the load
wheel for safe operation and to prevent jamming.
The Chainflux chain guide replaces the standard chain guide
on the SM5 or SM10 hoist models equipped for the inverted position only.
This high strength Chainflux chain guide provides a remarkably low friction
coefficient, facilitating passage of the chain on ejection. Its special
shape provides a much more fluid horizontal flow of the chain as it
comes off the load wheel. It helps to prevent chain jamming at the
upper part of the hoist as the chain is ejected as well as guiding the
chain into the chain bag and reduces contact area between the hoist
body and chain.
