WORK ON THE SLOPES
USE OF GASOLINE MACHINES
X
Do not cut steep slopes. Risk of injury from tipping over. The maximum permissible slope is 15°.
X
For wheeled rotary machines, mow down the slopes, never up and down.
X
Take extra care when changing direction of slopes.
X
Never use brute force when operating gasoline machines! The machine that designed it to work, perform it better and
safer, so always use the right machinery on a given task.
X
The performance of a gasoline engine mounted on a specific device may not achieve gross power. This can be due
to many factors, e.g. the components used (exhaust, charging, cooling, carburetor, air filter, etc.), limited use conditions,
operating conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) and variations between the different engines.
ENGINE OPERATION
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
THE ENGINE PRODUCES CARBON MONOXIDE DURING OPERATION. IT IS A COLORLESS,
ODORLESS, TOXIC GAS. BREATHING CARBON MONOXIDE CAN CAUSE NAUSEA, FATIGUE,
REPRODUCTIVE DISORDERS OR EVEN DEATH.
Do not start the engine in a confined space that may cause carbon monoxide buildup.
Running engines generate heat. Engine and silencer parts become extremely hot during
operation. When touched, they can cause severe burns. If it is close to all flammable
materials, e.g. leaves, grass, shrubs, etc., can be ignited.
• Do not tilt the machine to avoid tipping over or running out of gasoline and oil.
• Do not tilt the machine while the engine is running.
• Switch off the engine before leaving the machine or refueling.
Observe the safety instructions and warnings in the FUEL chapter
X
Wear approved eye protection! Operating the machine can cause foreign bodies to be thrown into your eyes,
which can result in serious eye damage. Normal glasses are not enough to protect the eyes. For example, eyeglasses
or sunglasses do not provide adequate protection because they do not have a special protective glass and are not
sufficiently closed on the side.
X
Wear suitable noise protection equipment! Noise can cause hearing loss or hearing loss. Frequently interrupt work.
Limit the amount of exposure per day.
X
Always wear sturdy shoes with non-slip soles. Risk of injury to the feet or danger of slipping on wet or slippery ground.
This protects against injury and provides a good base.
X
Wear safety gloves.
X
Safety equipment, such as a dust mask or hard hat, used under appropriate conditions, will reduce personal injury.
X
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or clothing that has ropes or belts, jewelry, or the like. Keep hair, clothing
and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
