10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet controller
CE915GM modules use the Intel 82573V Gigabit Ethernet controller for high performance
network application. The device is fabricated in a 1.2V CMOS process providing a low-
power system solution.
The Ethernet controller supports:
•
PCI Express x1 interface
•
IEEE 802.3, IEEE802.3u, and IEEE802.3ab standards
•
Integrated PHY for 10/100/1000 Mbps full and half-duplex operation
•
Three programmable LEDs
•
Wake on LAN that meets ACPI requirements. See
ACPI wake up
on page 34
for details.
Note:
When Embedded Ethernet and Option ROM Scan are set to Enabled in the BIOS, you
can press Ctrl + S to enter the Intel Boot Agent utility during system boot.
Thermal sensor
CE915GM modules have one thermal sensor, the National Semiconductor LM99 chipset,
which is placed on the bottom side of the module at location U20. It is an11-bit digital
temperature sensor with a 2-wire System Management Bus (SMBus) serial interface. It
measures the processor temperature and COM Express module temperature using a CPU-
on-die thermal diode. The SMBus address of the thermal sensor is 100110x (x: 0 for read,
1 for write).
Temperatures are measured every second and are displayed in the BIOS during boot up.
For real-time temperature monitoring while your applications are running, a third-party
software is required, such as SensorEval from National.
For further information on the L99 chipset and SensorEval software, visit the National
Semiconductor web site at

Power management
Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI)
CE915GM modules support the ACPI 3.0 standard for user-managed power via the
operating system. The extent of ACPI support depends on the carrier board to which the
module is attached.
Table 5
describes the supported ACPI states for the carrier board power options.
•
Indicates the normal module state in a given VCC state.
•
* Indicates the states entered by software control via ACPI interfaces.
