Adjusting the Media Sensor
The QLS-4100 X is equipped with two intelligent media sensors. One sensor is
used for Gap or Notched media types and the other is used for Reflective media
type. Under normal operation, the sensor has to be calibrated to the media type
being used only once. When changing from Gap to Reflective media types or
vice-versa, a re-calibration is required.
The Gap/Notch sensor is positioned
above
the media on a movable shaft which
can be adjusted out up to 2.5“ (64 mm) from the inside edge of the media. The
Reflective sensor is positioned
below
the media in a position fixed at 6 mm from
the inside edge of the media.
Before calibrating the printer for Gap or Notched media, you must adjust the
position of the sensor so that it clearly “sees” the gap or notch. The illustration
below shows how to adjust the sensor.
