7. INSTALLATION
The machine is delivered ready for installation in
accordance with the rating plate data.
Make sure that the electric line has the same
characteristics as the machine.
We
recommend
not
placing
the
machine
in
niches/cubby-holes or similar to prevent operational,
restocking and maintenance problems.
Install the machine on a level, dry, sturdy and stable
surface at a height of 80 cm from the floor.
7.1 Electric connection
The power supply system must have a cut-out or
automatic main switch with an efficient earthed outlet. If
there is no electrical safety, have qualified personnel
install a bipolar differential magnetothermic switch as
required by the safety regulations in force.
It is obligatory to earth the appliance.
The manufacturer declines all responsibility
if this accident prevention rule is not
complied with.
Be careful not to damage the power cord by
bending, crushing or putting stress on it.
Do not unplug the machine by pulling on the
cord but by gripping the plug.
7.2 Equipotential connection
The machine has a clamp located under the base for the
equipotential connection (
Figure 4
).
The clamp can house cables with cross section from 2.5
mm to 6 mm with eyelet terminal for M6 screws.
7.3 Water connection
Make sure that the water supply line is connected to a
cold drinking water supply system with maximum
pressure of 5 bar.
Before connecting the machine to the water supply
system, we recommend draining a bit of water from the
system in order to discharge any impurities in the
system.
There is a 3/8”G nipple under the base of the machine
for connection to the water supply system (
Figure 5
);
connect the pipe and the gaskets provided.
We recommend installing a water softener for the
machine’s water supply.
Set up a water shut-off valve upstream of the machine
connection.
A pressure reducer should be installed if the pressure
exceeds 5 bar.
7.4 Drain connection
Connect the rubber drain hose to the cup.
7.5 Starting
Open the water supply system shut-off valve.
Turn the machine on by turning the main switch to
position 1 and wait for the machine to reach the
water level in the boiler (green OK indicator light
on).
When the green OK indicator light is on, turn the
main switch to position 2 to start the heating
process.
Wait until the operating pressure has been reached;
the pressure shown on the boiler pressure gauge will
be between 1-1.2 bar.
When using the machine for the first time,
during boiler filling the filling time-out kicks in
every 2 minutes (the LEDS on the push-button
panels blink); turn the machine off and on again to
reactivate the filling process until the filling process has
been completed. With the machine hot, let around 0.5
litres of water flow to rinse the unit, pressing the coffee
dispensing switch.
Be careful of the hot parts of the machine, especially the
dispensing unit and the steam pipe. Never put your
hands under the steam pipe or unit when carrying out the
relative operations.
Always turn the machine on by turning the
main switch to position 1 and make sure that
the green “OK” indicator light is on before
turning the main switch to position 2.
