Disconnect inlet and outlet lines.

Remove the holding clips at the water softener inlet and outlet. Disconnect the water
softener from the water pipes.

If there are no clips, then cut the water line pipe as it enters the water softener. Use the
appropriate cutting tool for the different types of pipes (copper, PVC, PEX, CPVC, etc.)
