Removing / Installing Cache-to-Flash Module
The cache-to-flash module is a combination of a flash memory and a power module for write-
back data protection in the event of a sudden and unexpected power loss. For more
information about the Cache-to-Flash memory protection, please refer to the chapter 2.5,
Cache-to-Flash Memory Protection
CAUTION
The flash module of cache-to-flash is hot swappable because it is a PCIe
device. Before removing the flash module from the system chassis, you must
press the attention button until the flash module status LED finished
blinking. Otherwise, the flash module maybe damage.
Navigate to the XEVO UI ->
System
->
Arrays
and move over to the power module or flash
module. If the status shows
Failed
, that means the power module or flash is not
functioning
correctly and can’t provide real time data protection anymore. You may need to replace the
power module or flash to ensure continued protection.
Removing the Cache-to-Flash Modules
The following content and image are detail steps of removing the flash module.
1.
Press the attention button of flash module until the flash module status LED is blinking.
After blinking for a while, the LED will light off. At this point, you can safely remove the flash
module.
