Retrieving the Flash NVRAM Record
If the HBA crashes, you can retrieve the HBA Flash NVRAM record if you
previously saved the log information to a file.
To save the log information to a file:
1.
On the SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Manager main window HBA tree, select an
HBA.
2.
Click the
HBA Options
tab to bring that page to the front.
3.
On the HBA Options page, click the
HBA Utilities
tab.
NOTE:
When naming a core dump file, it is helpful to include the HBA
information, crash date, and crash time.
NOTE:
The Retrieve Flash NVRAM Record feature is not available if either of the
following is true:
You are using inbox/ioctl module drivers with Red Hat 4 and 5 and SLES
10. (To obtain the driver version string, use the
modinfo qla4
xxx
command at the UNIX prompt. If you are using the inbox/ioctl module
drivers, its version string contains a
d
.)
You do not have ACB (Alternate Control Block) support with the proper
hardware configuration, drivers, and firmware.
However, if you are using HBAs other than QLA4010 and download the
standard drivers and latest firmware from the QLogic Web site, you can
access the Retrieve Flash NVRAM Record feature.
