A
SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Man-
ager user interface does not
automatically refresh.
Cause:
There is a disconnect with the iqlremote agent or network com-
munication has stopped.
Solution:
Verify that the iqlremote agent is installed and running (see
“Verify-
ing That iqlremote is Installed and Running” on page 7-13
).
If DNS is used, verify that DNS is working properly:
Verify that the host on which the user interface is running has a
correct entry for the IP address and host name.
Verify that the host on which the agent is running has a correct
entry for the IP address and host name.
If DNS is not used, manually edit the local host file on the system on
which SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Manager is running and add the host
name to IP mapping:
For supported Windows systems, the location is as follows:
<System Root>\\system32\\drivers\\etc\\hosts
For supported Linux and Solaris systems, the location is as fol-
lows:
/etc/hosts
For network requirements, see
“System Requirements” on
page 3-4
, and
“Initial Installation” on page 4-1
.
Cause:
The HBA polling interval is set too high or the host polling inter-
val is set at too high or disabled.
Solution:
Set appropriate values (see
“Specifying the Polling Intervals
to Retrieve Host Status Alarms” on page 5-16
).
SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Man-
ager user interface loses the
connection to a host.
Cause:
There is a disconnect with the iqlremote agent or network com-
munication has stopped.
Solution:
Verify that the iqlremote agent is installed and running (see
“Verify-
ing That iqlremote is Installed and Running” on page 7-13
).
Verify that the appropriate network protocol is running.
Verify that the network is operational and that there is network con-
nectivity between the system on which the SANsurfer iSCSI HBA
Manager user interface is running and the system on which the
SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Manager server agent is running. For exam-
ple, on the host on which the SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Manager user
interface is running, use the system
ping
command to ping the sys-
tem on which the SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Manager server agent is
running.
