Verifying That the HBA Driver is Installed
If SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Manager is having trouble connecting to the local host,
follow the procedure for your operating system to verify that the HBA driver is
installed. If the HBA driver is not installed, then install it (see
“Step 3: Install the
Driver” on page 3-2
, or the
QLogic Quick Start Guide
).
If you determine that the HBA driver is installed, then consider the following:
If typing the host name in the Connect to Host dialog box, verify that you are
typing the correct name. Refer to the system server information to check the
system name. On the Connect to Host dialog box, select
localhost
.
The DNS or the local host file may contain an incorrect IP address for the
host name. Use the
ping
command to ping the host name, and then verify
that the correct IP address is translated from the name. If necessary,
reinstall the HBA driver.
Unable to use the Solaris hot
swap feature on QLogic
QLA4
xxx
HBAs.
Cause:
Cannot have iqlremote agent running when using the Solaris
hot swap feature on the HBAs.
Solution:
Follow these steps. Note that management features are
unavailable when iqlremote is not running.
1. Stop iqlremote as follows.
For supported Windows systems, open the Services window and
stop the QLogic Management Suite Java iQAgent service.
For Red Hat/SLES Linux and Solaris SPARC, type one of the fol-
lowing commands and then press
ENTER
:
/etc/rc3.d/S99iqlremote stop
pkill -TERM iqlremote
2. Use the hot swap feature.
3. When finished using the hot swap feature, restart iqlremote. Do one
of the following:
Reboot the system.
For supported Windows systems, open the Services window and
start the QLogic Management Suite Java iQAgent service.
For Red Hat/SLES Linux and Solaris SPARC, type the following
command and then press
ENTER
:
/etc/rc3.d/S99iqlremote start
