Maintenance instructions of the hydraulic resistance transmitter for the operator
As a matter of principle, the damper and its sliding surfaces must be kept free of coarse dirt. The sliding
surface of the piston rod must be cleaned of dirt and dust residues at regular intervals. After cleaning, it
is recommended to treat the sliding surface with suitable lubricants from the specialized trade. The
suitable lubricants can be obtained from proxomed®.
The damper must not be cleaned with aggressive cleaning agents. During cleaning work, make sure that
the protective caps of the valves are screwed on.
Thinners and aggressive cleaning agents can attack the surfaces, seals and stickers of the damper
and must not be used. (Spirit, acetone, brake cleaner, etc.)
The surfaces of the mute are made of anodized aluminum and therefore react to UV light, which can
lead to slight colour changes. Especially in the area of stickers and concealed surfaces, this effect can
lead to colour shadows. The function of the damper is not affected by this.
Checking and filling the system pressure
The hydraulic unit works with an air spring that preloads the oil column via a separating piston. The
filling valve is located below the piston rod outlet and is fitted with a protective cap.
Before checking and/or filling the system pressure, put on suitable protective goggles and remove
the damper.
Steps for filling or checking:
•
Carefully remove the protective flap.
•
Screw on the pump with a suitable adapter.
•
Check pressure!
Target pressure = 5 bar!
(hip connector 7 bar)
•
If pressure < 5 bar, pump again until target pressure is reached.
•
Carefully remove the pump.
•
Put on the protective flap.
