4.3 Accessories
A large number of accessories are available for various fields of application. Accessories are parts that
can be ordered at any time and installed on site, e.g.:

5 Installation and putting into service
This section explains how to install the DLU and put it into service.
5.1 Preparation
The place where the DLU is to be used and the parameters that are to be set depend on the
application. Ambient conditions such as water / vapor, ambient temperature, and IR radiation must be
taken into account when selecting the place of installation. Vibrations in the mounting location should
be as low as possible.
Furthermore, the cable run for the connection of the DLU must be included at the planning stage.
5.2 Ambient Temperture
The ambient temperature must not exceed or fall below the limits of the operating temperature of the
DLU (from 0 °C to + 50 °C).
5.3 Atmospheric Conditions
Smoke, vapor, dust or any other contamination in the air have no impact on the DLU.
5.4 Electromagnetic Interference
Their electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) considerably surpasses the values required and tested by
the EU Directive. Interference levels going beyond these values may cause faulty measurement. For
this reason, a distance from potential sources of interference should be observed when selecting the
place of installation and when laying cables.
5.5 Installation of the DLU
It is recommended to install the DLU with the mounting bracket HM9 intended for that purpose, in
combination with the adjustable mounting bracket HM7 (see 4.3 Accessories). The highest distance
allowed is 5 mm and depends on the object dimension. Can conveyor and sensor must be in the same
flow direction; this is shown with an arrow marking on the sensor mounting face.
5.6 Requirements at the Place of Use
The DLU should be installed by qualified staff.
