2. Apply a light machine oil to coat the stropping wheel’s
surface, but not enough to saturate it.
3. Distribute a thin coating of abrasive honing paste across
the stropping wheel’s surface with a wooden stick or
similar item.
4. Plug the tool sharpener into a power outlet and turn the
unit on. Continue to distribute the abrasive paste in a
circular pattern as the wheel turns until it is evenly spread.
5. Proceed to hone the tool’s edge on both sides.
5.1 use the grinding jig and angle guide to maintain the
angle while stropping.
6. Repeat Steps 1 to 4 when the stropping becomes less
effective or after 5 or more tools were honed.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is
efficient, easier to control and will have fewer problems.
2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace
damaged or worn components. Only use identical
replacement parts when servicing.
3. Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
4. Maintain the tool’s labels and name plates. These carry
important information. If unreadable or missing, contact
Princess Auto Ltd. for replacements.
5. Wheels should be dressed periodically to maintain grinding
efficiency, especially if they become clogged from grinding
soft metals. Use a grinding wheel dresser to restore the
wheel’s original shape.
6. Replace a cracked wheel immediately and use only the
flanges supplied with the grinder.
7. Replacement wheels must have a minimum rated speed of
115 RPM.
