ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
Letter references in parenthesis (A) refer to the included
Identification Key.
WORKING SPACE
The position of the tool sharpener
will vary depending on the type
of tool grinding or sharpening
being attempted.
The working space needed parallel
to the grinding stone is a minimum
17 in. A minimum working space of
20 in. is needed along the front of
the machine (Fig. 2).
POSITION THE UNIVERSAL SUPPORT
1. The universal support (D) is used as a universal support during
grinding or an attachment point for the grinding jig (A).
2. There are two sets of clamps and set screws that will hold
the universal support vertical (H) for grinding against the
wheel’s rotation or horizontal (B) for grinding with the
wheel rotation.
2.1 Grinding against the wheel rotation removes large
amounts of materials quickly for shaping rough edges
of tools such as axes.
2.2 Grinding with the wheel rotation removes less material and
allows for a finder edge on tools such as knives or chisels.
3. Insert the two legs of the universal support into the
appropriate clamps and tighten the knobs to lock it in place.
WATER RESERVOIR
1. Fill the water to the bottom of the V-shaped notch on the side.
