10. Do not start the tool when the tool’s accessory is touching the
workpiece.
11. Use extra caution when making a ‘plunge cut’ into existing walls or
other blind areas. You may cut objects that can cause kickback,
cut an electrical wire or a water pipe.
GRINDING TOOL PRECAUTIONS
WARNING! Some surfaces contain materials which can be toxic.
When working on materials that may contain lead, asbestos,
copper chromium arsenate or other toxic materials, extra care
should be taken to avoid inhalation and minimize skin contact.
1. Only use a grinding die that exceeds the maximum RPM of the tool
(see Specifications).
2. Only use a grinding die with the correct shaft size and shape.
3. Ensure the grinding attachment does not have wear or chipping.
Replace if necessary.
4. Before using the tool on the workpiece, run the tool at the highest
speed, without a load, for at least 30 seconds in a safe position.
Stop immediately if there is any vibration or wobbling that could
indicate poor installation or a poorly balanced grinding attachment.
Check the tool to determine the cause.
5. Sparks may be created when working with the die grinder.
Hold the tool so that sparks fly away from you and other persons
or flammable materials. Keep up-to-date fire-prevention safety
instructions in the event of a fire.
6. Do not use a coolant or water with this die grinder.
7. Do not use as a fixed grinder.
KICKBACK PRECAUTIONS
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged grinding
accessory. The tool kicks out and away from the workpiece while the
grinding accessory is still active. This can inflict a serious injury on the
user or a bystander. Kickback can also damage the tool or workpiece.
