Architectural Description
The VTrak E310f is a Fibre Channel subsystem suitable for Direct Attached
Storage (DAS), Storage Area Network (SAN), and Expanded Storage.
The VTrak E310s is a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) subsystem suitable for Direct
Attached Storage (DAS), Cascaded Storage, and Expanded Storage.
The E310f and E310s subsystems support:
•
1.5 Gb/s SATA disk drives
•
3.0 Gb/s SATA disk drives
•
3.0 Gb/s SAS disk drives
All E310f and E310s enclosures include a mid-plane, RAID controller, power and
cooling units, and enclosure processor all in one cable-less chassis design.
Multiple fans and power supplies provide redundancy to ensure continued usage
during component failure. The RAID controller is hardware based and controls all
logical drive functions transparently to the host system. VTrak appears to the
computer’s operating system as a standard SCSI drive or drives.
