Configuring JBOD Expansion
To expand the number of disk drives:
1.
On the E310s controller, connect the SAS expansion port (a subtractive-
routed port) to the CN1 (a table-routed port) on one of the I/O modules of the
first J300s unit. See Figure 16.
2.
Connect CN3 (a subtractive-routed port) on the first J300s unit to CN1 on
one of the I/O modules of the next J300s unit.
3.
Connect the remaining J300s units in the same manner.

You can expand a SAN system with no single point of failure. See Figure 17.
Such an arrangement requires:
•
Two SAS HBA cards in each Host PC or Server
•
A network switch (not shown)
•
A network interface card (NIC) in each Host PC or Server
•
One to four VTrak J300s JBOD subsystems
