Procedure

To adjust the aperture diaphragm for transmitted light, slide the lever left

(open) and right

(close).

To adjust the aperture diaphragm for reflected light, turn the wheel up

(open) and down

To achieve an optimal image, the size of the cone should be matched to the
aperture of the objective.

Altering the diaphragm also affects the brightness of the sample but it
should not be used for this purpose.
To change the brightness, adjust the illumination or insert a filter. For more
information, see Adjusting the Illumination Properties [
21].

If you select a different objective you need to subsequently re-adjust the
corresponding aperture diaphragm.
