Replacing a Hot-pluggable CPU/System Fan

Ê
Pull the fan handle in the direction of the arrow (1) to release the locking
mechanism.
Ê
Pull the fan out of its mounting location by its handle (2).
Ê
Set the fan down on the outside of the server.

CAUTION!
Never set a removed/defective fan down inside the server. Risk of
short circuit!
Ê
Open the green handle on the new fan, place the fan in the fan box and press
the handle together to engage the locking mechanism.
The new fan is tested by Server Management. The corresponding LED then
lights green (fan is OK) or orange (fan is not OK).
Ê
Replace the left side cover (floorstand model) or the housing cover (rack
model) (see
section “Opening/Closing the Housing” on page 107
).
