an angle greater than 15 degrees.
Starting Pull Start Engines
1. Unplug all electrical loads from the unit's
receptacles before starting engine.
2. Place generator on a level surface.
3. See
. Open the fuel shut-off
valve (A).
.
Figure 3-2.Fuel Shut-off Valve
4. Turn OFF/RUN/COLD START dial to

Figure 3-3.OFF/RUN/COLD START Dial
5. Brace one hand against the frame and
firmly grasp recoil handle. Pull slowly until
increased resistance is felt, then pull rap
-
idly up and away.
6. When engine starts, rotate OFF/RUN/
COLD START dial to RUN (2). COLD
START operation is reduced as OFF/
RUN/COLD START dial is rotated to RUN.
NOTE:
If engine fires, but does not continue to
run, rotate OFF/RUN/COLD START dial to
OFF and repeat starting instructions.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not overload the
generator. Also, do not overload individual
panel receptacles. These outlets are pro
-
tected against overload with push-to-reset-
type circuit breakers. If amperage rating of
any circuit breaker is exceeded, that
breaker opens and electrical output to that
receptacle is lost. Read
carefully.
Generator Shut Down (Pull Start
Engines)
1. Shut off all loads and unplug electrical
loads from generator panel receptacles.
2. Let engine run at no-load for several min
-
utes to stabilize internal temperatures of
engine and generator.
3. See
. Rotate OFF/RUN/COLD
START dial from RUN to OFF.
4. See
. Close fuel valve.
Starting Electric Start Engines
