INSTALLATION OF THE BATTERY
1. Place the battery in the battery compartment.
NOTE: The poles face the inside of the compartment.
2. Hang one end of the tie rod in the holes on both sides of the
battery, and insert the other end through the holes of the
fixing board (see Fig. 2).
3. Keep the fixing board on the side opposite from the poles.
4. Secure the tie rod with an M6 nut.
5. Connect the positive anode wire to the anode pole, and cover with the red rubber lagging
on the anode pole. Connect the negative wire to the negative pole, and cover with the black
rubber lagging on the pole.
BATTERY
1. Recommended battery: 12V-9AH
2. Correctly connect the anode and the negative pole when installing the battery.
3. Fill the battery with electrolyte before use.
4. Inspect the electrolyte level each month. If the level is low, refill the battery using distilled or
pure water only. Refill the battery until the fluid level is between the upper level mark and the
lower level mark.
CAUTION: Do not mix electrolyte and tap water.
5. Clean the battery if electrolyte is spilled on the generator in order to prevent corrosion of the
grounding and negative leads. Wash with water if any signs of corrosion are visible.
FUEL VALVE LEVER
The fuel valve is located between the fuel tank and the carburetor.
When the valve lever is in the ON position, fuel is allowed to flow
from the fuel tank to the carburetor. Be sure to return the fuel valve
lever to the OFF position after stopping the engine (see Fig. 3).
OIL ALERT SYSTEM
The oil alert system is designed to prevent engine damage caused
by an insufficient amount of oil in the crankcase. Before the oil
level in the crankcase falls below a safe limit, the oil alert system
automatically stops the engine (the engine switch will remain in the
I (ON) position). Check the oil level before each use. If the engine stops or
does not restart, check the engine oil level (see Engine Oil in the
Pre-Operation section) before troubleshooting other areas.
CIRCUIT BREAKER
The AC circuit breaker will switch OFF automatically if there is a short
circuit or a significant overload of the generator at the receptacle. If the
AC circuit breaker is automatically switched OFF, check that the appliance
is working properly and does not exceed the rated load capacity of the AC
circuit before once again switching ON the circuit breaker. The circuit breaker may be used to switch
the generator AC power ON or OFF (see Fig. 4).
