On vehicles with 4-zone air conditioning:

Press the safety button in the driver’s door
armrest before folding the seat backrest
forward.

the rear – child protection" on page 220.
The light indicator on the button lights up.
The control panel on the rear center console
and the power window buttons on the rear
doors do not function.
1. Move front seats forward.
2. Press release button A and fold the backrest
forward.
The pass-through facility between the rear seats
can also be folded forward, depending on the ve-
hicle equipment.

Actuate release handle A in direction of arrow
and fold the backrest forward.

Depending on equipment, the rear seats can be
folded forwards from the luggage compartment.

The relevant seat backrest folds forward.

WARNING
Backrest not engaged
correctly
If the rear seat backrests are not engaged cor-
rectly, they can fold forward unintentionally while
the vehicle is moving.
If the red marking B is still visible, the backrest is
not engaged correctly.

Make sure that the red marking B is no longer
visible after the backrest has engaged.
e
Release the backrest and engage it again if
necessary.
e
Fold up the backrest until it locks with an audi-
ble click.
Make sure that the seat belts are not trapped.
