After completing the installation, the team is 

responsible to ensure that the installation complies 

with the FIA ‘Racing Nets Installation Specification’! 

 

Installation Safety Net (outer net / driver’s door net)

 

 

Remove the cage padding to position the strap mounting (for upper strap 
inner net) and tighten the bolts to 

10 Nm

 (7.4 ft-lb) torque (image 8.3.5).  

 

 

Fit the strap mounting to the A-pillar (image 8.3.7). Tighten the M10x60 bolt 
pos. 1 to 

46 Nm

 (34 ft-lb). The clamping surface of the mounting must 

completely encompass the front tube of the roll-cage in the area of the A-
pillar. 

 

Tighten M8x25 bolt (image 8.3.8) to 

23 Nm

 (17 ft-lb)
