3 First Steps
3.3.2
Assembling the Interferometer
INFORMATION
Assemble the interferometer at one of the Polytec stands (refer to optional
components S
3.1) or at the customer specific equipment. You will find
the dimensions of the threaded and fitting holes in the technical drawing in
The mounting surface should be flat. To set up the measurement distance,
either the interferometer or the object must be fixed in a way that it can be
moved.
1. Assemble the interferometer at/on a plane surface.
2. Use the mounting threads and fitting holes to screw the interferometer at
the bottom view.
3. Tighten the screws with a maximum torque of 2.5 Nm.
3.4
Cabling
In the following you will find a description of all the steps necessary to connect
up the instrument. All the cabling is also shown in F
3.8. Secure the
connections appropriately.
Should any cabling problems occur, contact your local Polytec representative.
WARNING!
Electric shock caused by applied high voltage !
Voltage values of up to 120 V DC voltage are emitted at the controller's piezo
output. Touching the piezo output can cause an electric shock if the controller
is live or is still carrying a residual voltage.
» First connect up the devices to each other before connecting them to the
mains voltage and switching them on.
WARNING!
Electric shock caused by applied voltage !
» Connect up the instruments only using a three-pin mains cable to AC
systems 50/60 Hz with a grounded protective conductor, and a nominal
voltage of between 100 V and 240 V.
ATTENTION!
Damage to the device caused by wrong cabling!
» Only use the jacks labeled with VIDEO to connect up the video camera.
» Always connect the sealed plug on the video camera cable to the
interferometer and not to the PC !
