Chapter 3: Preoperational Procedures
3.1 Battery installation
The unit comes without battery installed.
CAUTION!
Install and replace the battery when the CWA module is switched off!
(refer to
section 3.3.)
To install the battery unscrew the lid of the battery compartment (10) (Figure 2.1), insert the
battery observing its polarity (the "+" contact must be facing inward); put the lid back.
Figure 3.1 – Battery installation
After the battery is installed, the instrument turns on automatically (except the CWA module).
The instrument continuously monitors the battery voltage and displays the battery sign with the
analogue scale in the upper right corner.
If the battery is fully charged, all five marks are displayed.
In case of critical discharge (the battery voltage drops below 1.23 V), two or one marks are
displayed, the battery sign blinks (2 times per second), audible alarm becomes quieter, the
micropump speed is gradually slowing, and then the micropump turns off. The battery should be
replaced.
If the battery is not replaced, the CWA module will be turned off automatically.
If the battery voltage drops below 1.1 V, the instrument turns off completely.
To extend the battery life, display becomes dark in about 20 sec. To activate it press
any control button (refer to section 3.3).
