5.2.2 Cleaning the ionization chamber
•
insert the cleaning rod with cloth wetted with rectified ethanol through the cleaned inlet into
the ionization chamber cavity until stop;
•
wipe the inner surface of the ionization chamber with circular motions;
•
repeat these steps 2-3 times with a new cloth;
•
leave the instrument turned off for an hour after cleaning.
5.2.3 Cleaning the micropump
•
turn off the instrument, remove the battery;
•
match the mark on the rotating head and the
∆
mark on the unit case;
•
align the unit vertically so that the inlet (1) (Figure 3.2) is facing upward;
•
take a medicine (or measuring) pipette with 10-15 drops (~0.5 ml) of rectified ethanol;
•
insert pipette into the inlet not deeper than 1-2 cm and put in ethanol drop by drop into the
ionization chamber;
•
some portion of ethanol coming through the ionization chamber will get out through the
unit outlet (11) ( Figure 3.2);
•
match the
Ο
mark on the rotating head and the
∆
mark on the unit case;
•
install the battery (see Chapter 3);
•
witch the CWA module into the calibration mode (refer to section 3.4.2.1) and wait until
the display shows "CHEM:SEARCH ON";
•
switch the CWA module into the CWA detection mode by matching the mark on the
rotating head and the
∆
mark on the unit case and wait for about 30 min;
•
switch the CWA module off (refer to section 3.3).
