General Maintenance
NOTE:
Do not touch a halogen bulb with bare fingers. Oil from skin
leaves a residue, causing a hot spot that will shorten the life of the
lamp.
Removing Halogen Bulbs - High/Low Beam
1 Pinch the ends of the spring (1)
together and lift until it releases
from the spring retainer.
2 Lift spring carefully around
wire harness (2) and flip to
outside of housing.
3 With the wire harness attached
to the bulb (3), withdraw bulb
from housing.
4 Grasp bulb by metal base and
carefully separate bulb from
harness.
Installing the Bulb
1 Hold bulb by metal base and
install into wire harness.
2 Insert bulb into housing.
3 Carefully flip spring back into
housing placing it around wire
harness.
4 Squeeze spring together until it is over the spring retainer and
release.
5 Verify headlight aim.
Removing Halogen Bulbs - High Beam
1 Remove the wire harness (4).
2 Gasp the bulb (5) firmly and twist it 1/2 turn counterclockwise.
3 Remove the bulb from housing and replace with new bulb.
4 Place the bulb and housing back inside the hole and turn the
housing 1/2 turn clockwise to lock into place.
5 Reinstall the wire harness to the housing.
