PlexWriter 8/2/20 Operation Manual
Possible Cause #5
•
Conflict with another board. (PC installation.)
Solution #5
1.
Temporarily remove one board at a time and all its related drivers from your
system.
2.
Reboot the computer and check that the CD-ROM drivers load successfully.
Possible Cause #6
•
Audio CD disc in the drive. Audio CDs do not have computer data, so typing
computer commands in DOS while a CD-Audio disc is in your drive gives an
error message.
Solution #6
•
To enter computer commands, use a data CD-ROM disc in the PlexWriter drive.
•
To play music, use an audio CD in the drive.
Symptoms
Message "CDR103—Not High Sierra Format."
Possible Cause #1
•
Incorrect BLOCK jumper setting.
Solution #1
•
Ensure BLOCK jumper (internal drive) or DIP switch (external drive) is OFF.
See page 15.
Possible Cause #2
•
Hardware conflict.
Solution #2
•
If the SCSI interface board uses DMA channels, try changing the selected DMA
channel. See the instruction manual for your SCSI interface board.
Possible Cause #3
•
Memory manager or IRQ conflict.
Solution #3
•
If the SCSI interface board uses memory-mapped addressing or has a BIOS,
exclude the addresses from the memory manager in DOS or try to change the set
address or IRQ on your motherboard for that slot (if supported by the
motherboard). You can also try to change these settings in Windows 95/98, in
CTRL PNL/SYSTEM/DEVICE MANAGER. See your SCSI interface board
instruction manual.
Possible Cause #4
•
Incorrect version of Microsoft CD-ROM extensions. (PC installation.)
Solution #4
•
Version 2.00 or higher of MSCDEX.EXE is required to read a High Sierra or
ISO 9660 format disc.
