"DHCP release" option
This option enables the automatic assignment of the IP address by a DHCP server. If no
IP address can be assigned via DHCP, the static set IP address is used automatically.
"Activate Spanning Tree Protocol" option
The Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) is a standardized procedure that permits the use of
Ethernet networks with redundant data paths. Ethernet networks with redundant data paths
form a meshed topology with impermissible loops. Due to these loops, data packets can
circulate endlessly within the network and can also be duplicated. As a consequence, the
network is usually overloaded due to circulating data packets and thus communication is
interrupted. The meshed structure is thus replaced by a logical, deterministic path with a
tree structure without loops using the Spanning Tree algorithm. In the event of data path
failure, some of the previously disconnected connections are reconnected to ensure
uninterrupted network operation.
"Default gateway" option
The default gateway/router establishes communication connections with devices that are
outside the local network. All data packets to these devices are sent to the default gateway
and forwarded from there.
The set IP address can be overwritten by a DHCP server.

"Operational mode" option
This option can be used to specify whether an access point is operating as a client or an
access point.
This option is not available for a client.
Access point: In this mode, the device forms an access point to the network for other
wireless devices.
