Q #5: How should I store the transmitter and receiver when I am not using them?

A: Completely charge the receiver before storing. Turn the receiver off when not in use.
Remove the battery from the transmitter.  Store both at room temperature. To preserve
the life of the receiver battery pack, charge it every 4-6 weeks when not in use.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Please refer to the guide below if you are experiencing problems with your SportDog™
SportHunter 1200 Remote Trainer. Please call the Customer Care Center at
1-800-732-0144 with additional questions.

Problem: My dog is not responding when I press a stimulation button.

Try the Following:
1. Check to see if the red LED light is flashing once every four seconds on the receiver.
If so, recharge the receiver battery.
2.  Make sure that the collar’s contact points are placed snugly against your dog’s skin.
3. Increase the level of intensity. As you turn the intensity knob on the transmitter,
watch your dog to determine his “recognition” level of the signal. As he feels the
signal, he will scratch his neck or ears.
4. Check if the transmitter’s LED is flashing instead of being solid when the button on
the transmitter is pressed. If so, replace the transmitter battery.

Problem: The range of my unit is less than 3/4 mile.

1. Check to see if the red LED light is flashing once every four seconds on the receiver.
If so, recharge the receiver battery.
2.  Make sure that you and your dog’s immediate surroundings are free from metal
obstructions that can reduce the unit’s operational range.
3. Check if the transmitter’s LED is flashing instead of being solid when the button on
the transmitter is pressed. If so, replace the transmitter battery.

Problem: The receiver will not turn on.

1. Recharge the receiver battery.
2. If the LED light does not illuminate when the receiver is being charged, the

receiver’s rechargeable battery should be replaced.
