Network Connectors
The RJ-45 Ethernet connectors, illustrated in the Figure 81, connect the Matrix Frame Controllers to a
10 or 100Mb/s TCP/IP network. The System Control connectors are not used. Ethernet configuration
options are detailed in Appendix A.

To connect the cards to the network, do the following:
1. Set the IP address, Subnet mask, Gateway address, and Trap address on Matrix Frame
Controller to addresses approved by the Network Administrator.
2. Using a straight through RJ-45 Ethernet cable, connect the Ethernet jacks to a 10/100BASE-T
hub or switch on the TCP/IP network.
The Slot A Network Frame Control is for the Matrix Frame Controller in Slot A. The Slot B Network
Frame Control is for the controller located in slot B (see Figure 83 for a typical location).
