6-8 notches
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Shift the automatic transmission lever in
H
.
3. Firmly depress the brake pedal.
4. Fully release the parking brake.
5. Step on the parking brake pedal down
slowly, and count the notches with a force
of 245N (55 lb, 25 kgf).
6. Check that the number of notches is within
the specification (6-8 notches).

1. Park the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Shift the manual transmission lever in
neutral, or the automatic transmission
lever in
H
.
3. Stop the engine and depress the brake
pedal several times until the travel
distance does not change.
4. Start the engine with the brake pedal
depressed.
The brake pedal should move down
slightly.
5. Stop the engine with the brake pedal
depressed. Hold the pedal for about 30
seconds. The pedal should not move.
6. Start the engine and stop it after about a
minute. Firmly depress the brake pedal
several times. The pedal travel distance
should decrease with each application.
