Commissioning the PT-FCS5000
Check that the heating water filling station has been installed properly:
1. Close the ball valves on both sides.
2. Connect the device to the mains supply via the power adapter (24 V) included in the
scope of delivery. The display is then illuminated. The display can be illuminated at any
time by pressing any key.
3. To enter the variables, press the ESC button for about 3 secs until the display for the raw
water conductance pulsates.
4. Enter the raw water conductance (from 100 – 1500 µS/cm in steps of 10 µS/cm) with the
help of the arrow keys. Confirm with OK. This input serves as a preview of the (theoreti-
cal) residual capacity of the permasoft in use.
5. Select the permasoft capacity (5000, 18000 **, 28000) and confirm with OK. The treat-
ment capacity in litres is now shown on the display.
6. Select the permitted weekly refilling water quantity (10 -190 l/7d) in steps of 10 l,
alternatively the refilling quantity monitoring can also be deactivated (display shows --).
*** Confirm with OK. This feature is for protection against larger leakages. If the preset
quantity is exceeded, an acoustic signal sounds and refilling is stopped by the closing of
the solenoid valve.
7. Select the time interval (48, 96 or 192 h) after which the solenoid valve should always be
opened for 20 minutes. Confirm with OK. The solenoid valve now opens for the first time
for 20 (75) minutes, and all bars in the graphic flash.
8. Open the bleed valve on the underside of the filling station.
9. Open the ball valve on the inlet side until water runs out without bubbles.
10. Close the bleed valve.
11. Open the ball valve on the output side.
12. If the difference between the set holding pressure and the pressure in the system ex-
ceeds 0.3 bar, deionised water is added. The current flow rate in l/min and the conduct-
ance of the deionised refilling water are shown on the display. In addition, the conduct-
ance is shown by a traffic light for orientation.
13. Since the refilling water quantity can be automatically limited by means of the solenoid
valve, the ball valves must remain open.
14. If the solenoid valve was closed due to a parameter being exceeded, it can be opened
temporarily by confirming with OK. The refilling quantity and residual capacity parame-
ters are thereby reset. If the red LED is active, the valve only remains open until the next
conductance measurement has taken place. If the measured conductance is < 40 µS/
cm (red LED off), the solenoid valve remains open for a maximum of 20 (75) minutes;
otherwise it closes immediately.
* With the permasoft version PT-PS1000FD, the flow rate for the refilling must not exceed 2 l/min,
as otherwise salts will increasingly break through from the drinking water.
** When filling for the first time in the case of the PT-PS18000 or PT-PS18000Alu, the refill monitoring
must be temporarily deactivated. In this case, the conductance measurement is only activated after
250 litres have flowed, as the integrated pH value stabiliser would otherwise influence the conductance
measurement.
*** If refill monitoring is deactivated (display shows --), the solenoid valve always opens for 75 minutes.
This applies both to manual opening via the arrow keys and to the settable time intervals of 48, 96 or
192 h.
The manual opening of the solenoid valve can be forced by pressing (3 sec) the left arrow key
(<). The solenoid valve then opens for 20 or 75 minutes respectively, but nevertheless closes
if a parameter is exceeded.
