Attaching the Lens
All camera exposure modes are available when using DA, D FA, FA J or
other lenses with an Aperture
s
(Auto) position. Some functions are
restricted when lenses are not set to the Aperture
s
position. Also see
“Notes on [36. Using Aperture Ring]” (p.251). Other lenses and
accessories will not be available with factory default settings. To allow
shutter release with lenses or accessories not listed above, set [36. Using
aperture ring] in the [
A
Custom Settings] menu. (p.75)
1
Check that the camera is turned off.
2
Remove the body mount cover
(
1
) and lens mount cover (
2
).
Be sure to put the lens down with the
lens mount side facing upward to
protect the lens mount from damage
after removal.
3
Align the red dots on the
camera and the lens, and
secure by turning the lens
clockwise until it clicks.
After attaching, turn the lens
counterclockwise to check that the lens
is locked in place.
Turn the camera off before attaching or removing the lens to prevent
unexpected lens movement.
