How To
How to thread the Tape Head …
Avoid the cutter knife blade that is mounted between the two
rubber contact rollers. Note the location of this knife blade prior to
handling the tape head or threading the tape. Failure to do so
may result in serious injury.
1.
Remove the old tape core.
2.
Firmly push the new roll on so it seats against the rear flange of the tape
mandrel.
Note:
This positioning will ensure the tape is applied evenly on the center line of the
box.
Important:
Position the tape so the sticky side meets the incoming box.
incorrectly oriented tape may case a transfer of the adhesive onto
the feed rollers resulting in jams and poor tape application.
3.
To thread the tape, draw the tape end through the rollers.
4.
Continue past the red wipe down roller.
5.
Cut off approximately ½" below the center line of the red rollers.
6.
If the tape is correctly threaded, it will be held in a curved formation by the
flexible plastic shoe and spring finger located above the red roller.
Important:
Do not use a knife to cut against the rubber rollers. Cuts in the
surface of the rubber rollers will cause inconsistent tape feeding
resulting in jams.
