70 ANALOGUE OUTPUT MODE

Description ANALOGUE OUTPUT MODE SELECT
Options 0/6
FUNCTION Selects the 0–10V analogue output function
(Terminal 24) according to the following:

Name OUTPUT FREQUENCY
0-10Vdc= 0–100Hz
Notes Indicates the output frequency of the
Microdrive. If the output frequency is greater
than 100Hz then the analogue output is limited
to 10Vdc.

0-10Vdc= 0–200Hz
Notes Indicates the output frequency of the
Microdrive. If the output frequency is greater
than 200Hz then the analogue output is limited
to 10Vdc.

Name OUTPUT CURRENT
0-10Vdc= 0–150% of Microdrive rated current
Notes Indicates the output current of the Microdrive.

Name OUTPUT VOLTAGE
0-10Vdc= 0–500Vac
Notes Indicates the output voltage of the Microdrive.
If the output voltage is greater than 500Vac
then the analogue output is limited to 10Vdc.

Name COMMUNICATIONS OUTPUT
0-10Vdc= 0–10Vdc
Notes Allows the Microdrive serial communications
option module to control the analogue output.

Name TORQUE CURRENT
0-10Vdc= 0–150% of Microdrive rated current
Notes Indicates the component of current in phase
with the output voltage (i.e., real current).
Owing to the high efficiency of the induction
motor, this output is closely related to the motor
torque under fixed V/Hz operation (Min Flux
Screen 25 = 100%).

Name MOTOR POWER (estimated)
0-10Vdc= 0–150% of Motor Rated Power
Notes Indicates power supplied to the motor. Useful
for power control systems. A power factor
of 0.9 is assumed. Accuracy is approximately
±10%.
SETTING UP No adjustment is required if the analogue
output will not be used (this screen may be left
in any state).
Select the desired output function.
71 REVERSE DIRECTION INHIBIT

Description REVERSE LOCK OUT
Options [Y]ES/[N]O
FUNCTION Provides, as a mechanical safety function, the
ability to stop the Microdrive from operating in
reverse, regardless of input command or
selected negative frequency.
SETTING UP If reverse operation is to be a normal function
of the process set reverse inhibit to NO.
If reverse operation is not required set reverse
inhibit to YES.

Description MODULATION FREQUENCY
Options [NB] NARROW BAND 4kHz
[WW] WHISPERWAVE 4kHz
[NL] NARROW BAND 2kHz
[WL] WHISPERWAVE 2kHz
FUNCTION Alters modulation mode and switching
frequency. Alters the type of noise produced
by the motor. Narrow band produces a
conventional fixed frequency noise spectrum.
Whisperwave is a special mode which
distributes the noise over a wider frequency
range. The noise produced in whisperwave
mode is usually found to be less annoying and
easier to mask.
SETTING UP To allow for direct comparison of the motor
acoustic noise level, this mode may be switched
while the Microdrive is running. Choose the
option that you find most suitable.
For Microdrives of rating 46A or greater, the
2kHz switching rates should be selected unless
allowance is made for derating. Derating to
80% should be allowed for when operating at
rated ambient temperature and 4kHz switching
with Microdrives of rating 46A or greater.
Whisperwave or narrow band should be
selected to minimise the audible noise.
Notes: If 4kHz switching frequency is selected (WW
or NB) then the digital frequency output pulse
train is active over the Microdrive output
frequency range 0–200Hz. If 2kHz switching
frequency is selected (WL or NL) then the
digital frequency output is only active over the
Microdrive output frequency range 0–100Hz.
