48 Locating the Problem
Cash drawer checkout
Refer to the following to check for a cash drawer problem.

Remove the rear cover. (See “Removing the rear cover” on page 5.)

Connect the RJ-11 cable from the cash drawer to the RJ-11 connector on the PT-5700 as shown in Figure 4.1.

Turn on the PT-5700.
Refer to the following to prevent incorrect cash drawer status detection by the system:
IMPORTANT
The cash drawer RJ-11 connector is DC+24V. Ensure the cash drawer to be con-
nected matches this power specification.
