If the key is compatible with the USB feature, the USB icon will appear. Otherwise,
no USB icon will appear. See Table J-1 or call Particle Measuring Systems.

Press the USB icon
softkey.
Pressing the icon saves all the data into a CSV file on the FLASH Key. The user is
prompted for a filename, as shown below.
The default filename is: InstrumentName-YYYYMMDD.CSV, where YYYY =
the current year, MM = the current month, and DD = the current day. The default
extension, CSV, is convenient for importing data into Excel, but it may be changed
as well. Data is formatted in the standard CSV format for the Lasair II particle
counter.
The following points should be kept in mind when using a FLASH Key for file
storage:
•
There is no mechanism for deleting, copying or renaming files.
•
If the Lasair II particle counter senses that there is insufficient space to save the
file, it will display an error message.
•
A full buffer of data will take several seconds to write. If the FLASH Key is
removed during the write process, data on the key may be corrupted.
•
If the filename already exists, a pop-up dialog box will be displayed. The data
can either be overwritten, or a different name selected.

CAUTION
NEVER
remove the FLASH Key while data is being loaded into it. Wait until
the Lasair II particle counter software informs you that the process is
complete.
