Lasair II Particle Counter Operations Manual
Chapter 7:
•
If you are unable to gain control of the particle counter, the error message
“Unable to gain control of the instrument at this time.” will appear on the
computer display.
•
When Facility Net has control of the Lasair II particle counter, its control
functions will be locked out, but data will displayed on the particle counter.
•
Lasair II particle counter passwords cannot be set, enabled, or disabled from
Facility Net. However, the same function can be achieved by disabling
passwords in the Lasair II particle counter and then using Facility Net’s password
feature.
•
The Lasair II particle counter will retransmit up to 3000 data samples when it
first attaches to Facility Net under the following circumstances:
➢
The particle counter has already been connected to the same Facility Net
system once before.
➢
The particle counter is not rebooted or powered off before it reconnects to
Facility Net.
The issue of more than one person accessing the same Lasair II particle counter
should be managed through passwords and other administrative controls.
Preparing for On-Line Operation
To prepare the particle counter for on-line operation:
1
Ensure that its identifier, on the Main Display Screen, is unique to all other
Lasair II particle counters that will be used with your Facility Net system.
NOTE:
If you attach a Lasair II particle counter that has a duplicate
identification to your Facility Net system, the driver will ask if you want
to switch the existing configuration over to the new IP address. The
Lasair II particle counter identification is placed in the
DCSName
in
Facility Net so it will be present in the
Instrument Configuration Dialog
Box
.
2
Ensure that all location names are unique between different Lasair II particle
counters.
3
Ensure that the Lasair II particle counter’s Ethernet address is unique to all other
Lasair II particle counters.
4
Ensure that the following files in your copy of Facility Net are of the correct
versions:
•
pdrvlpen.dll: version 2.9.23 or later
•
pms_util.dll: version 2.9.22 or later
•
pdrvlpen.hlp: dated Feb 20, 2001 or later
