NOTE:
to ensure maximum precision and the correct functioning of the
movement when setting the watch, it is recommended to:
- turn the crown carefully, at moderate speed, so that the date does not
change more than once every 3 seconds;
- adjust the date manually for months having fewer then 31 days because the
date disc has 31 days;
- make sure, if the date is set by turning the hour hand anti-clockwise
(direction – of the tool), that the date indicator precedes the required date
by at least 6 days and then goes forward to the required date by changing
the direction of rotation of the crown (dir of the tool).
T
HE EQUATION OF TIME
(H)
The equation of time is the difference between the time shown by the watch,
which is that universally adopted for convenience, and real or solar time,
which varies every day owing to the eccentricity of the Earth’s orbit and the
inclination of its axis. On four days a year, these two times coincide perfectly,
but on all the other days they differ by up to 15 minutes, either forwards or
backwards.
The linear indicator at 6 o’clock
(H)
immediately shows this time difference.
The equation of time indicator is automatically set by setting the correct date
and month.

AND SUNRISE
(J)
TIMES
The sunrise and sunset times are shown by two cursors that point to the
numerals on the lower part of the dial. The hours indicated are those of the city
chosen by the customer. The sunset
(I)
and sunrise
(J)
indicators are
automatically set by setting the correct date and month.

WINTER TIME CORRECTOR
(L)
If the movement of the L’Astronomo - Luminor 1950 Tourbillon Equation of
Time is set up for a city with Daylight Saving Time, a summer/winter time
corrector
(L)
is integrated in the case at 8 o’clock. The corrector enables the
sunrise and sunset indications to be updated when the time needs to be
changed.
A special summer/winter time correction tool
(M)
is supplied with the watch.
Put the tool tip in the corrector and turn it as shown in
diagram c,
in order to
make the sunrise and sunset indicators change by one hour.
T
HE SKY MAP
(N)
The sky map
(N)
is located on the movement and is visible through the
sapphire crystal window in the back. The sky map travels both clockwise and
anti-clockwise, depending on the chosen hemisphere, thus constantly
updating the night sky above the city chosen by the owner. The sky map is set
automatically by setting the correct date and month.
