Apple Strudel

Ingredients:
3 (600 g)
Granny Smith apples
(1 lb, 5 oz)-cored,
peeled and roughly
chopped

granulated sugar

walnuts, roughly
chopped

cup (60 g)
raisins
1 tsp
ground cinnamon

cup (50 g)
ground almonds
8 oz (225 g)
fi
lo pastry
8 tbsp
butter, melted
powdered sugar to serve
Method:
Preheat oven to
350°F (180°C)
. Put
the apples and juice into a bowl and
toss together. Add the sugar, walnuts,
raisins, cinnamon and almonds and mix
together. Take three sheets of
fi
lo pastry
and overlap each sheet by 2 inch.
Brush each sheet with melted butter.
The shortest edge should be towards
you. Place three more sheets on top
and brush each sheet with melted
butter. Spread the apple
fi
lling along
the front edge of the
fi
lo pastry just 1
inch from the edge and 1 inch from
the sides. Fold in sides over the
fi
lling
and brush with butter. Roll up from the
short edge buttering the
fi
lo pastry as
you roll it. Place the roll on greased
Metal Pan, seam-side down. Brush with
melted butter and cook on
BAKE 350°F
(180°C)
for 60 minutes. Rotating Metal
Pan halfway through cooking. Dust with
powdered sugar to serve.
