5 Operation of the laser marking system
5.5.3 Switch remote mode on and off by external devices
In the “System settings” screen, you can specify that an external device, for instance a PLC,
can switch the laser marking system to remote mode by inputting a signal at the TERMINAL
connector.
In case of an emergency stop or an interlock, re-pumping of the laser marking system will
be necessary. For safety reasons, construct a laser re-pumping system which must be
operated by hand.
• To use this function, you need to make all settings in the configuration software in
advance.
• If “I/O” is selected for “Remote mode switching method”, you cannot switch remote mode
on and off by PC configuration software.
1. Establish an online connection between your PC and the laser marking system.
2. Go to the “System settings” screen and select “Operation/information”.
3. For “Remote mode switching method”, select “I/O”.
4. Select “Apply to laser marking system” in the ribbon.
5. Disconnect the online connection with the laser marking system.
6. Turn off the power of the laser marking system, wait five seconds and then restart the
system.
Do not turn off the power supply during an online connection with your PC. Otherwise a data loss or
system failure may occur.
The laser marking system can now be switched to remote mode by turning ON the
remote mode input X4 of the TERMINAL connector.
